Unique international conference BarCamp Caucasus 2008 will be the first new Media and blogs event of such large scope on the Caucasus. The conference will be widely covered in many interactive and mainstream media in the Caucasus and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Participants are leaders of IT-innovations, developers and owners of web-sites that enjoys constant readership. A separate direction within the BarCamp Caucause 2008 will be attracting new active users of IT, getting them acquainted with trends and latest developments in the sphere.

Participants of BarCamp Caucasus will arrive in Tbilisi from the following counties/regions: the Caucasus (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia), Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), Baltic (Latvia, Lithonia, Estonia), Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia. At the same time, participation in the BarCamp is open to anyone; experience of previous conferences in Kyiv (in 2007) and Riga (in February 2008) demonstrates there were IT-experts and bloggers from the EU countries and the USA among participants of the BarCamps.

Information about the BarCamp will be spread through new media (individual and group blogs, social networks, forums, etc.) in the Caucasian region, countries of the CIS and Baltic countries, as well as in the English-language blogosphere.

Besides the informational support by the new media in the Internet, the conference will be covered by the national Georgian press and broadcast. As the target group of the BarCamp includes representatives of mainstream media from the Caucasian republics, we expect wide coverage of the event in Armenian and Azerbaijani mass media, too.
