Meeting with students at TSU

April 12th, 2008 | posted in: meetings | Comments (0) »

Today, on April 12th we held a meeting with the students and people interested in the BarCamp at Tbilisi State University.

Irene made a presentation about Journalism vs Blogs, which was very interesting.

After that, Dvorsky talked about how he started blogging, what his blog is all about, how and when he found out blog, etc.

The main subject of this presentation, of course, was BarCamp Caucasus 2008 : What’s a BarCamp, how we will organize it, and who can take part in this event.

If there are any topics you are interested in connection with Barcamps and Blogsphere, please let us know (in comments) and we will take this into consideration for further Meetings.

You are all very welcome !

Kindest Regards,

Tiko

Radio story about our BarCamp

April 06th, 2008 | posted in: info | Comments (0) »

Dear friends,

here is a short radio story about how everything has started :)

The story is done by Irene for her radio course at GIPA, but she could not resist the temptation to do a boring mandatory story about something interesting, like our BarCamp Caucasus, bloggers and us, organizers.
So enjoy!

First Official Unofficial Meeting on March 25

March 26th, 2008 | posted in: info, meetings | Comments (1) »

So we finally saw THE guys. Zhenya Morozov, Max and Joha made
presentations about BarCamp philosophy and events. The meeting was organized by Irene, Misho and Giga.

Sitting here and there, everybody seemed interested in the BarCamp story. About 40 people gathered; bloggers, web-developers, IT-experts, journalists (Newspaper “Navigator” and TV station Rustavi2).

Conclusions from the presentation: it will be fun. A lot of fun. It will be about gaining contacts, experience, knowledge… So, again - all kinds of fun available in June :-)

Photo-story follows up…

Tbilisi at night, or think twice before coming here :)

March 23rd, 2008 | posted in: Tbilisi, info | Comments (6) »

ey all Barcamp participants!

We think it would be good if you knew the place where you are going. At least visually. So we start putting online images of Tbilisi, places in it that are somehow relevant to the upcoming Barcamp.

So we traditionally start with old Tbilisi, the (as the name suggests) oldest part of the city, the part where all tourists are usually taken to in the first place. :)

Meeting N.1

March 23rd, 2008 | posted in: info | Comments (2) »

Venue : Cafe “1001 Nights” on Chardin Str. (map view)

It was really nice evening… We got acquainted with each other, exchanged our opinions about Barcamp 2008, discussed main issues and problems.

The first thing we talked about was the place where Barcamp 2008 will take place, and named several possible locations, but still we need to gather some more information in connections with this.

Secondly, we highlighted the next main issue, and that’s sponsorship. All of us disseminated responsibilities, and more info about this subject will come soon.

Finally, I think that this meeting was a great starting point in our future collaboration

Best Regards,

Tiko

P.S. And this is how it looked like (This is NOT a basement!!!)
